From Austin Toastmasters (Balcones, Club #3407)

Balcones Toastmasters = 25 February, 2008 Notes

Sonny Sontag led Table Topics with questions about likes and dislikes of the TM format. Mike, a visitor from another club won the ribbon with a discussion about Evaluations. Amy spoke on TT and nominated Jim Comer for president….of the United States of America. Mary handled the likes of Speaking. All did well.

John Allert, like a loving father, took us all on a fly fishing trip. He even baited the hook for of us. Most interesting John…and we didn’t even get wet.

Gordon asked the question, “America, are you listening?” Gordon used several friends as examples to prove his point….sometimes we don’t listen. Perhaps we should.

Anne brought a most poignant story of her courageous sisters fight for life, “The Mighty Oak.” Anne challenged each of us to take a stand, and emulate the Mighty Oak in our own backyard. Anne won the “Blue Ribbon”

Antoniette led the evaluations. Priscilla did Table Topics: Harry evaluated John, Scott did Gordon and HB did Anne. I was distracted at about that moment and did not get the name of the winner. If you see my dog over at your place, feed him well and send him home.
