What a great concept Jim Comer had for the theme of Monday’s meeting; tolerance. Most of us have little; most of us need more. It is kinda like agreeing to meet you half way and I think the halfway line is at my toes. Thank you Jim for making us all more aware of the need to be more tolerant.
Table Topics questions were a total debacle. Not the answers…the questions. Table Topics Master, me, chose poor questions, poorly presented, and not coherently stated. The answers were good in spite of all this. Mary, the first participant, was brave enough to say she did not have anything to say. Apologizing later to Mary, she told me after sitting down she had the answer in the form of Cleopatra. I wish I would have had the presence of mind to come back to her and let her tell us her take on Cleo. Steve got the green ribbon by flushing the whole thing down the drain.
- Jon’s icebreaker speech was notable with his statement about the “Book ends of Life.”
- Harry was adroit in selling Georgetown to Gordon. That was a slam-dunk, preaching to the choir.
- Steve, where were you when I was a kid, trying to swing a bat. Who would have thought that there is a science to hitting a speeding ball with a stick of wood. And I guess you know…Steve hit a home run.
