- Minutes of Meeting
- The meeting was opened just a wee bit late by new President Jake North as we were all excited to see each other after our "snow day" last week.
- Prayer and Pledge was led by JD Stewart.
- We had two visitors. Priscilla returned from our last meeting. David Peace, a friend of Jim Comer, joined us for the first time.
- Jennifer Wagner served as Toastmaster for her first time. The theme was the "Ice Storm '07".
- Timer was Harry Savio.
- Grammarian was Jake North. The word of the day was "expeditious".
- One Minute Toastmaster was Frank Peters praising the value of good evaluations.
- Table Topics Master was Karen Bundy. She did a great job, relating the effect of the past week's weather on her job and keeping the questions varied. Table Topic participants were:
- Hollis Baker – the joys of dry wood
- Sonny Sonntag – "white mud" = Austin's 1948 8" snow (winner)
- Anne Child – eating and shopping pre-storm (most improved)
- John McMillen – running out of Irish jokes
- Speaker #1 Glenn Nielson - "Wiener head – a true story" - vivid and funny. (winner)
- Speaker #2 Gordon Baker – his Georgetown Convention & Visitor's Bureau and Main Street Advisory Board presentation for today. Well presented argument, focusing on his target audience.
- Speaker #3 Phil Hallmark - "I should have been born in summer" great story of battles with ice demons.
- General Evaluator was Mary Buker.
- Table Topics evaluator was Diane Graden – kind and thoughtful.
- Evaluator #1 for Glenn was Hollis Baker – wants to know what happened with the girl.
- Evaluator #2 for Gordon was Jim Comer - much appreciated professional coaching (winner).
- Evaluator #3 for Phil was Scott Perry – complementary and challenging.
- After the Timer and Grammarian reports, control of the meeting was turned back over to Jake North. The schedule was read for our next meeting on January 29.
- The meeting was adjourned on time.
