Words That Made a Difference by Toastmaster Jack Frick
We had 4 guests: Sherry, Steve's wife; Amy, Jonathan's co-worker; Janis, Matt's wife; and Sammy, Matt's violin playing son age 4.
- Prayer & Pledge - Ann's mother would say "Mistakes make it unique".
- Grammarian - Nancy remembers a teacher saying, "Nursing school will be too hard for you", so she went and make straight A's.
- OMT - Jack subed and told us about 3 methods people use to communicate: Visual, Kinesthetic, or Auditory.
TT - Rick substituted as TT Master. Participants were:
1. Sonny - His high school teacher encouraged him to achieve his potential
2. Steven - Honesty, Respect, and understanding makes people credible
3. Jonathan - He likes silence and listening closely and it's spiritual aspects.
4. Steve G. - Quoted Kennedy, Reagan and Churchill as people who motivated people to give their best.
Speakers -
- 1. Priscilla, 'Summer Solstice', painted beautiful word pictures of flying in a Bearcat WWII airplane
- 2. John M. - 'Investing Green', told us how his father, a professor of Biology at UT, influenced him to find green investments.
3. Matt Carlin - 'Perform to Your Potential' brought in a surprise guest, his son Sammy, to show us violin playing as taught by the Suzuki Method with three songs: motorcycle motorcycle, Ice cream cones, and Mississippi hot dogs.
GE - Gordon led the team of Scott, Jon, Dan and Harry.
