First things need, desperately, to be first. And we are pleased to have had 4 famous visitors Monday. Dan Naden’s parents, Bill and Harriet Naden, and former members, Chip and Frank Peters. We were so very pleased to have each of you.
Our newly “Xed” President, Jonathan, installed the new officers for the coming six months, with Mary Buker our new President. Jerry, VP of Education; Jim, VP of Membership; Dan, Treasurer; and Priscilla
as Sgt Of Arms.
Sonny, as One Minute TM suggested, “Speaking from behind the lectern, Or in front of the lectern, can be ‘Just right.’
Mike Prentice, Topics Master, coffered Senator ship on Mary, Jerry, and Fred with the idea they might solve some of our more pressing problems. I think they might do a better job in Washington than some we have there now. Jerry won the ribbon.
- Chip Peters, who is presently working for the State Department in Shanghai, China, shared some of the ins and outs of living in another land. Thanks for filling in, and sharing you observations of the Far East.
- Steve Levering, another ‘Old Member’, filled in for Priscilla. Steve discussed “Lost Baggage,” at work, at home, as well at in our Political life. “It is what it is,” and “Dirt poor,” colored his speech. Steve won the “Blue.”
- Peter Ryon talked about the four levels of speech; small talk, work talk,
view point, and personal viewpoint. Peter enlisted Frank in an exercise in chitchat. It was an interesting talk.
Chief Evaluator Harry called on John Mc, Anne, Glenn, and Steve G., to evaluate the speakers. Glenn won the ribbon. Steve G. won Most Improved.
This is where the BIG decisions are being made these days. We all Enjoy our club meetings; we just can’t quit, so we go to Rudy’s for and extension of all the fun and games. You are cordially invited to join us each Monday.
